The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has has postponed the scheduled new tariff announcement for the 2022 to 2027 Multi-Year Major Tariff.
The PURC, earlier noted that the commission was going to announce Tariffs on the 15th of July 2022. However, the commission has indicated that they have observed some key issues with new tariff proposals from the various outlets that must be resolved before giving way for any new tariff announcement.
This was revealed by the Executive Secretary of PURC, Dr. Ishmael Ackah. He noted that the commission is currently in talks with all the various stakeholders to make sure that the issues identified are well dealt with in the interests of the general public and the stakeholders as well.
Dr. Ackah further said the Commission has scheduled a meeting with the regulated utilities to afford them the opportunity of providing clarity and justifications for some of the figures quoted in their proposals, and to respond to some important issues.
He has assured the general public that the commission is committed to working effectively to ensure harmony.
