Eugene Osei Tutu, a journalist at Nhyira FM has lamented that Chairman Wontumi is untouchable that is why his Akonta Company was unstoppable despite all efforts to stop him.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, 30th September 2022, he wrote;
"Akonta mining, the company destroying our forest reserves and rivers is for Wontumi. All the task force we have spent millions of cedis on couldn’t stop him and his likes. They're untouchable."
He further asserted that, we know those destroying our water bodies and forest reserves. The leaders of this country know them. It is their own people. They cannot act because the proceeds run the machinery of politics and party activities. We've placed the love for party, money, and politics ahead of everything, the country Ghana can go to hell.
The comments of Eugene comes as a background to order from the Lands Ministry calling a halt to Akonta company's galamsey operations.
