I don’t need much money to enjoy life - Kofi Amoabeng, Former boss of the defunct UT Bank

Prince Kofi Amoabeng, the former CEO of the now-defunct UT Bank, claimed in a recent interview with TV3 that he had experienced everything in life and that his life has been a full circle.

The businessman whose UT Bank was carelessly shut down by the government's New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2017 under the guise of the Bank of Ghana's (BoG) banking sector clean-up claimed on Business Focus on TV3 that he is in a better position to mentor people about the complexities of life because he has experienced it all.

"I have practically seen it all the way to the top and all the way down. Therefore, it is a complete statement if I say I want to have an impact on people and teach them some leadership skills; it is not as though I am reading from a book and telling you what to do.

"I have witnessed everything crumble from Kantamanto all the way to the most prestigious CEO," the speaker said. Thus, it is a full 360. I therefore speak or give from the heart when I need to. I'm quite passionate about it; I want them to stay away from the potholes.

Asked whether he is a man of straw, Mr. Amoabeng answered: “I can be a man of straw, I am 70, I have kids that I have educated. I am not saying I live off them but I am quite frugal with my life. I have one watch, I have one shoe so I don’t need much money. I don’t have to have a lot of money to enjoy life.
