Work On Tamale Interchange Progresses Steadily At 70 Percent Complete

Contractors working on the 2 Billion Dollar Tamale Interchange Project are busily working to complete the Project on scheduled time.

According to the contractors, work is 70 percent complete and baring any last minute challenges, the project will be completed on July 31st 2021.

The Interchange is the first to be constructed in Northern Ghana is part of the 2 Billion Dollar Facility from Sinohydro Master Project Agreement.

The Project consist of one Kilometer long which links the leading from the Dapema Palace through to Point 7 road, the Central Taxi Rank and the Central Market intersection.

The final part of the Project which is phase two will see some 10 Kilometers of roads within the Central Business District in the Tamale Metropolis laid with asphalt.

Also, some major roads in the Metropolis will also be asphalted as part of the Project as the work is scheduled to be completed on July 31 this Year.

Some Weeks ago, workers on site went on a sit down strike to protest payment of allowances and increase in the daily wage which they argued was too small.

But the strike was called off after Management met with leadership of the workers to resolve their issues.
