The Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Dr. Clifford A. Braimah supported the just-ended Farmers' Day Celebration with the donation of a brand new Apsonic motorcycle valued in excess of Ghc 8,000.
The gesture made on behalf of him by the Chairman of the NPP in the Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency was in recognition of the hardwork and effort put in by the farmers year in and out to feed the nation. The intervention was to also aid the North Gonja District Assembly in terms of the award packages for the deserved farmers.
District Chief Executive, Hon. Adam Eliasu Red Bawa, received the motorbike prior to the main event to celebrate and honour farmers and expressed gratitude to the GWCL boss, saying his intervention was timely as it will go a long way to boost Agriculture in the area.
This year's event, the 38th of its kind was observed at Salugu, a farming community, with government representatives, heads of departments and agencies, Chiefs, religious and opinion leaders in attendance.
