[Electricity]: Reasons why Ghanaians must prefer billing to prepared.

When electricity first came to Ghana by the help of the Late President Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of the Republic of Ghana, there was only one way by which bills were paid and electricity delivered. This involves the fixing of meters in various homes after which officials from the electricity company of Ghana, who are our own people, come around to post the bills in our homes. After which we will have to go to the Electricity Company ourselves and make payments.

After the payment, we are always given a receipt, which we use as evidence whenever there is a fault from the company. This system of billing is done on a monthly basis and is one of the most effective one since the customer has to pay on a monthly basis.

But not long ago, a new system of purchasing has been employed by the government which was titled prepaid and is currently under operation in some towns like Hohoe and even in the capital of Ghana. But it went down to other places like Aflao, Keta and the rest of the places which are not using the prepaid.

The following are some reasons why you should rally behind the use of the billing process other than prepaid.

1. You can have access to electricity all months round unless you did not pay the company, an accumulated amount which you should not have kept accumulating. Prepaid runs down very quickly as compare to a standard billing one. When ever your prepaid finishes in the month, week or year, you have to make a way sure that you buy a new one before you can actually have continuous access to light.

2. Prepaid can run down and due to this, you might have money to buy alright but because of the run down you will have to wait until it gets loaded. Imagine there is bad network connection, you would have to wait until the network becomes normal.
