With that been said, let’s get right into this article.

The fight against galamsey in Ghana has caused massive stir, debates and arguments across all social media platforms as most people are in support of the government’s policies even though others claim otherwise.

With respect to this, the ministry for mines and natural resources have put all hands on deck to fix the contaminated water bodies due to the illegal mining practices in the country.

Since the commencement of the operation, there has been reports of countless excavators, Changfans and water pumping machines been destroyed on site as most people even lost count of them.

Speaking in a recent press briefing, the defense minister, Dominic Nitiwul revealed that, after the deployment of 561 military men in the operation halt, there has been a total of 49 excavators, 228 Changfans and 87 water pumping machines among other mining equipments have all been seized and burnt on site in the 3rd phase of the operation halt.

”The operations will continue, there will be a fourth phase, fifth phase and sixth phase. We are not stopping. Three days ago, the armed forces decided to count the number of machines that were leaving the Birim area, what we call the Atiwa forest and just in a day, they counted 700 and that is the impact this operation is making”, Dominic Nitiwul added.

Considering the above listed number of Excavators, Changfans and water pumping machines, we can clearly notice that the government is putting all hands on deck in fighting galamsey in Ghana even though most individuals agree otherwise as some members of parliament for the incumbent party’s excavators including other mining equipments were recently seized and burnt.

Do you think it was right for government to burn all the excavators, Changfans and water pumping machines even though most Ghanaians claimed otherwise?

Do you think that the burnt excavators, Changfans and water pumping machines could’ve been useful to the government in any way?
