According to the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison , the Central Bank plans to phase out the two notes from the system in the coming Months.
Explaining the decision of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Addison indicated that, the 1 and 2 Cedi notes are not handled properly by the public and it returned to the volts of the Bank of Ghana as very dirty.
He further stated that, it is now very expensive to print Bank notes in the Market.
But since the announcement by the Bank of Ghana, there has been mixed reactions from a section of Ghanaians on the matter, especially on social media.
Whiles some think that, the decision by the Bank of Ghana will lead to increase in the prices of products, others think that, it is a bad decision.
