IMF Admits Receiving Ghana's Application For Financial Assistance.

The International Monetary fund (IMF) has admit receiving application for financial assistance from Ghana to help boost the Ghanaian economy.

The Ghanaian government has officially requested financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Fund is prepared to help the country regain macroeconomic stability, according to a tweet from its country representative, Albert Touna-Mama.

"We can confirm that the government has contacted the fund to ask for funding for Ghana's own economic plans."

"The IMF is prepared to help Ghana regain macroeconomic stability, protect debt sustainability, and foster inclusive and sustainable growth," he continued. President Akufo-Addo gave the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, the order to start official negotiations with the IMF for financial assistance.

The decision to work with the IMF had already been communicated to President Akufo-Addo in a chat with Kristalina Georgieva, according to a statement dated July 1st, 2022 and signed by the information minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
