Hon Alan Kyeremanteng Sends Another Important Message To African Leaders

Trade minister, Hon Alan Kyeremanteng has send another important message to African leaders across the continent. The minister has told African leaders that there is an urgent need for Africa to develop its technological and engineering capabilities if it is to be counted among the premier continents.

According to him, this is because the divide between rich and poor countries, is one between those with engineering capabilities and capacities, and those without.

He said Africa, obviously falls in the latter, and leaders in Africa need to take immediate steps to change this for the better only if they are to be counted among the more prosperous continents in the world.

"This was part of a keynote address l delivered on Tuesday, 5th October, 2021, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra, at the 7th edition of the Africa Engineering Week and The 5th Africa Engineering Conference.

It was under the theme: Engineering Intra-Africa Trade and The Sustainable Development Goals”.

I told the Conference that without the role of engineering professionals the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) protocols, which l helped to draft while serving as Trade Policy Advisor to the UN Economic Commission for Africa, in 2007, cannot be achieved" the minister told African leaders on his social media wall today, 6th October, 2021.
