Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, a member of the financial committee of parliament said Ghanaians would have to brace up for more economic difficulties this new year, 2022.
According to Dr. Forson, 2022 is a year of economic misery and inflation.
He said that there would be “at least 30% increase in general goods while the Ghanaian cedi which is trading at almost 6.5 cedis to 1 US dollar is likely to hit seven cedis to a dollar by the end of the year, 2022″.
"Fuel prices, are set to go up by 18 pesewas this week and more likely to go up again on account of a weak cedi”. He said.
He also stated that there could be a multiplicity of taxes and Levies to take effect at the end of January 2022 and the interest rate is likely to go up.

"Government will be borrowing heavily from the domestic market since the Euro bond market is closed to Ghana for, at least, the first half of 2022". He started.
