The Long Arms of 'Procurement' are Missing in Recent Govt Policy - IMANI Vice President

The Vice President of IMANI Africa, Mr. Bright Simmons, has lamented the lack of long arms for procurement in current government policies.

Mr. Bright Simons noted that when you take careful consideration of current policies by the government, there is clear evidence that the government does not go through proper procurement procedures before arriving at their final decisions.

Under normal circumstances, government policy should encompass evaluating, selecting, and creating formal contractual agreements and managing the ongoing supplier relationships. However, Mr. Bright Simons stressed that this is missing in recent years' government policy.

Mr. Bright Simons made a particular reference to the announcement by the Minister of communication and digitization, Madam Ursula Owusu's mobile application for the Sim registration. She only broke the news when she announced the date extension for the sim card registration.

Mr. Bright Simons said via a post on Twitter, "There is NOT a single Ghanaian government policy in recent years that when one looks into it carefully, one will not find the long arms of PROCUREMENT."
