When I think of Prisons I can only imagine a place of thick iron bars and a small rooms and dark places, bad food and water, poor ventilation and overcrowding. But the truth is not all prisons in the look looks like how you imagine them. There are prisons in some places in the world that actually looks like a hotel or even a college. Below are 10 of them.
This prison is built on an Island in Oslo fjord. The maximum security prison was built to harbor a little over 100 inmates. The prisoner's enjoys luxuries like horse racing, tennis, sunbathing and fishing. To be honest, I would forget I am even a prisoner when taken to this place.
2. HMP Addiewell, Scotland.
This is the only prison where inmates are given the opportunity to better themselves through skills learning and building with the focus of helping them to be a better civilian later on. There are 700 prisoners here in Addiewell.
3. Otago Corrections Facility, New Zealand.
Inmates who find themselves here are also taking through skills building just as Addiewell. Classes on engineering, farming and vocational training are learned.
4. Justice Center Leoben, Austria.
Perhaps this is the only prison one law offenders are giving a complete single room self contain with television and internet access. Wow, this is so splendid.
5. Aranjuez Prison, Spain.
This prison allows inmates to spend at least a year with their infant children. The prison walls are designed with cribs, Disney characters and a play grounds for kids. One can have to spend some time with family members.
6. Champ-Dollon Prison, Switzerland.
This prison was criticized for overcrowding, but authorities refurbished the facility to house three inmates in a very spacious room. It feels like living like dormitories than in a prison.
