Don't Even Dare Say That To Us: Massive Reaction As Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Makes Unexpected Comment

Ghanaians have expressed their distasteful displeasure over a comment made by the information minister Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

The Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said that a number of the government’s revenue sources such as the Value Added Tax (VAT) are not performing well.

This, he said, is a situation that must be confronted to rely less on financing and also reduce the debt burden.

Speaking at the [3businesscolloquium] organized by Media General on Wednesday, July 6, the Ofoase Ayirebi lawmaker said “A number of our revenue handles in this country are not performing optimally.

Ghanaians in their submission on Facebook sighted that it's unethical and unprofessional for him to mention that to Ghanaians. Ghanaians have it that it is pathetic to know that they've not been monitoring the functions of an institution that is key am vital to the Ghanaian economic stability.

Here are a few randomly collated comments from Ghanaians:

• You should be shed with what you're telling us in a moment when we all need capable men in leading the country's fight against poverty.

• Don't dare tell us that, why can't you guys feel for the ordinary Ghanaian rather than making comments that only births strife and anger.

• And you are using the little we are getting to do billboards, are you guys normal up there?

• First it was free shs, then covid-19 and Russia Ukraine war, to NDC MPs frustrated E-Levy passage and now it's poor tax performance.
