A member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu and a member of the National Democratic Congress, John Abdulai Jinapor has sent a bold message to the Akufo-Addo-led government while revealing deep secrets from the energy sector.

Today, February 18, 2022, on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana, Hon. John Jinapor revealed that the price stabilization and recovery levy accrued 2.2 billion Ghana cedis from 2016 to 2020. The Akufo-Addo government however revealed that they've utilized 1billion cedis but according to Jinapor, they cannot properly account for the rest of 1.2 billion cedis.

" The price stabilization and recovery levy are supposed to have accrued 2.2 billion cedis from 2016 to 2020. The levy is supposed to accrue these monies so that in times like this where petroleum prices are high, the levy can come in and stabilize them. We've utilized about 1 bullion cedis of the 2.2 billion so where is the remaining 1.2 billion?? Mr. John Jinapor strongly questioned the Akufo-Addo government on Metro TV today.

When asked by Dr. Randy Abbey if they've questioned the Minister, he revealed that indeed they have done that.

" We raised this at the committee and the Minister said he's borrowed some of the money to pay pensions and the rest kept in the consolidated fund. How can you go and put such money in the consolidated fund? Meaning what? This money should be kept in an exco account that will give us interest so that it could have helped us in times like this." John Jinapor revealed on Metro TV.

Do you think the energy minister is lying about putting the rest of the money in the consolidated bank?

But why will they put it in a consolidated fund when it's not meant to be there? It's meant to stabilize petroleum prices in times of hardship like this.

Where are the men Akufo-Addo said he had because looks like they are badly managing things right now?
