Ghana is known for its cocoa production in Africa and the world at large. In every year Ghana produce over thousand tonnes of cocoa to its neighboring countries and to the world. Ghana has produced the highest volume of cocoa in history this year, exceeding over one million metric tonnes of cocoa with over ten weeks left until the end of the season, according to official data.
Data based on the grading of beans by Quality Control Board of CCOCOBOD sighted by the Finder shows that with just two weeks to go in the light crop season, the board has recorded over one million that is one million and thirty thousand (1,030,000) metric tonnes of cocoa beans.
Even though the season is not over, but based on the data by CCOCOBOD Ghana suggest this will be the highest volume of cocoa production in the country's production history. This figure is expected to go higher by the close of the season. Before this record the highest production in the country's production history was in 2010/2011 season where the country recorded one million, four thousand,one hundred and ninety (1,004,190) metric tonnes of cocoa beans.
