Kennedy Osei Nyarko, a member of parliament for Akim Swedru, promised that construction on the Boankra Inland Port Project would begin in August 2022.
He declared that his government would start the long-delayed project.
The project's engineering design and impact assessment were both finished, according to information provided by the chairman of the Parliamentary Roads Committee.
He said that the project was a component of the strategic transportation network being built to provide import and export services to the country's center and northern regions.
The Boankra project was started in 2003 by the Kuffour Administration with all necessary feasibility studies completed; however, more than 15 years after the project's inception, actual building work has yet to begin to bring the project to light.
The congressman stated that the administration was still committed to seeing that the project was completed.
