How We Have Improved Ghana's Economy - Vice President Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said the Akufo-Addo administration has managed to stabilize the local currency, the cedi, against the major trading currencies, especially the dollar.

He said the government introduced strong economic policies that ensured that the cedi had been stabilized.

Speaking on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM, Monday, he said, "I think that fundamentally we have managed the cedi much better by all accounts. 

"We arrested the runaway deterioration in the cedi, and consequently if you take a gander at the record as far as the devaluation of the cedi in the last four, five years or eight years, we will see that since the NPP government came to control, the pace of the cedi deterioration is half not as much as what it was previously. That is the thing that the information appears, so it's half less. 

"We have captured the devaluation of the cedi, cut down expansion, cut down the loan cost, we have expanded development, decreased joblessness diminished the enduring of the individuals as far as paying for power and made numerous occupations," he expressed. 

He further expressed that the administration is happy with how the economy has been overseen even with COVID-19. 

"So as far as our administration of the economy, we are upbeat and exceptionally ready to battle on the record of what we have accomplished no matter how you look at it… "
