Ghana is a land of riches and resources. Timber, Oil, Cocoa, Bauxite, Rubber, Cashew, and a countless number of them, scattered across the country. This brought the need to set up factories tailored specifically to resources that abound in a specific location or district, to process them from raw materials into finished goods hence the 1D1F Initiative.
Since it's conception, a number of factories have been borne out of it, the latest being Darko farms - a once struggling poultry farm and poultry processing factory, now revamped and revitalized under the 1D1F Initiative.
Many others factories are on paper, while others are work in progress, yet to be completed and commissioned for use. The sizes of these 1D1F factories ranges from small to medium to large enterprise employing into the hundreds of some Ghanaians.
But for this, we doubt if it is part of the 1D1F Initiative. A vulcanizer has boldly inscribed on his vulcanizing machine the words "ONE DISTRICT ONE FACTORY" as he proudly showcase it to the world.
Many are wondering if this is part of the President's initiative or it was the creativeness and imagination of just one man.
Can he apply to be enrolled on the 1D1F program, so he receives funding from government and train others as well?
With the key to the 1D1F Initiative in the hands of the President, he would be the only one who can tell whether it is part of the program and which district is it located, or whether it can be admitted onto the 1D1F program to helo train more people amd create more jobs in the economy, to boost the economy and reduce unemployment.
