We're Rich; Townfolks Jubilate After Maize Farmer Discovered Oil In His Farm.

There was a spontaneous Jubilation in the Western Regional town of Apremdo after a maize farmer reportedly discovered crude oil in his farm. The townsfolks felt that they are rich already because extraction of the oil will bring more job opportunities for them.

According to Joynews, immediately the news came out, government officials were informed to quickly bring machines to inspect the likely oil field. This is because, no Ghanaian citizen can extract oil without government's intervention.

This is because, Constitutionlly, although the land may belong to the maize farmer, everything beneath it including minerals belongs to the government of Ghana.

Notwithstanding, the name of the maize farmer can never be taken out of the discovery of oil. Who knows? What the townsfolk believes to be crude oil may be something different.

Well, we all live to see. If it's indeed oil, perhaps we Ghanaians mat stop our IMF approach.
