We might start borrowing very soon to pay salaries - Gabby Otchere-Darko.

Gabby Otchere-Darko, a cousin to the President and a leading member of the ruling government has given us a hint as to where the country is heading now. He bemoaned the fact that we are not generating enough to service the debts we are owing not to talk of paying the salaries of public sector workers. He opined that we may need to seek external help very soon to pay wages.

According to him, Ghana is growing faster than most countries worldwide. But I don't understand why a country that is growing more than most countries will have to borrow money to pay its workers. Something doesn't add up here. I am sure they have now realised that things are not the way they have anticipated.

This was what he tweeted earlier today. He posted "Our economy is growing faster than most countries around the world. But, that alone can’t save us as confidence in our ability to service our debts is lowering. We can’t continue to use all the little revenues raised to pay our debts. Very soon we may have to borrow to pay wages".
