Mobile Money Vendors Association In Ghana Has Finally Embraced The Implementation Of E-levy

Mobile Money Agents Association in Ghana has finally agreed to the introduction and implementation of the Electronic transfer levy (E-Levy) despite its first stand when they were in opposition by simply saying that it will collapse their businesses.

They finally embrace the tax saying it will help strengthen the weak Ghanaian economy and enhance better conditions of living even though they earlier planned demonstrations against its implementation.

In a meeting with President Nana Akuffo Addo, the Secretary of the Mobile Money Agents Association, Evans Otumfuo said that the association's earlier concerns over the E-levy have been addressed.

“Indeed, we had some concerns when the tax was introduced earlier. But these have been addressed. We are ever willing to partner government to bring up more of such refreshing policies.” He said.

They meet with the President at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Revenue Authority has earlier asserted that they have made Gh¢1m from a single charging entity in just one day.
