We Cannot Celebrate Remittances And Recruit CHO During The Day And Prosecute Gyekye Quayson At Night

Lawyer and KPMG Professor in Accounting at the Fisher School of Accounting, University of Florida Stephen Kwaku Asare widely known as Kwaku Azar has still opined that Ghana cannot celebrate remittances and recruit CHO during the day and prosecute Gyakye Quayson during the night.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on, Wednesday, 25th May 2022 he wrote;

"DuCRiPs salutes Ghanafuo in the diaspora who, in spite of global hardships, sent $4.5B, representing 6% of GDP, back to the homeland in 2021.

DuCRiPs is also aware that most Ghanafuo acquire other citizenships while in the diaspora, for various reasons, including the ability to work to send remittances to the homeland.

DuCRiPs calls for coordinated policy and programming efforts to leverage the skills, capital, and energy of Ghanafuo everywhere for the development of the country.

This means issuing Patriotic Bonds. It also means going after Tariq Lamptey, CHO, Nketiah et al.

But God is watching us!

We cannot celebrate remittances and recruit CHO during the day and prosecute Gyekye Quayson at night.

Our policies must reflect our circumstances. We are, unlike Australia and other places, a net exporter of skilled labour. We cannot cavalierly write off that important population.

A Pressure group, Dual Citizens Rights Protection Society( DuCRiPS) has given voice to the proposed amendments to the Constitution to rid it of the limitations imposed on Ghanaians with dual heritage or citizenship.

Hon Gyekye Quayson is the MP for Assin North who was ordered to stop performing his role as a parliamentarian because he owe allegiance to Canada.
