The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has assured Ghanaians that the administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is making every effort to lessen the difficulties facing the populace.
The government is making a challenging choice to revive the economy so that all Ghanaians can benefit, according to the party's director of communications, Richard Ahiagbah.
He wrote on Twitter, "The NDC's strategy is misinformation of economic data, & consistently drum it. Sadly, it doesn't make up for the fact that they have no policy suggestions. To restore this economy for the good of all Ghanaians, the NPP is making difficult decisions.
However, the Bank of Ghana's efforts to restrain the cedi's depreciation is succeeding, according to Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
On September 28, 2022, he gave a press conference where he described additional steps the central bank had taken to stabilize the cedi's decline, including a special foreign exchange auction for bulk distribution companies and a gold purchase program.
He said, "The Ministry successfully worked on a US$750 million Afreximbank loan facility which was received in August 2022 as part of measures to shore up our reserves, improve exchange rate stability and address some of the funding needs.
