Government lied. The huge taxes on Ghanaians can only do just three(3) things in 2022- Sammy Gyamfi

The National Communications director of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has once again caused stir on social media. In an interview on 'The Key Points' program on TV3, Sammy Gyamfi has made it clear to the government that, the taxes to be imposed on Ghanaians in 2022 are not appropriate.

According to him, government will still borrow from various financial institutions outside the country in order to keep the country going. He continued by saying that, the new tax imposed on Ghanaians will do no good as he said it will only cater for just three things.

He made it clear that, the government is expecting a total income of ¢105 billion in 2022. "If the government is able to get this money which there is a possibility they may not, then the government can only spend on just three things." He said

1. Government will have to pay interest plus amortization which is close to 46 billion in 2022.

2. Also the government will also pay a total amount of 35.8 billion to public sectors as their salaries and other allowances.

3. The government will also make a statutory payment of ¢26 billion.

According to Sammy Gyamfi, this total amount is even more than what the government is expecting in 2022.

He then asked the government where they will get monies from to do other developmental projects and investment in public sectors as promised

He ended by saying that, the government cannot use the 'wicked' taxes imposed on Ghanaians to develop the country but rather borrow more and more. He said the government has once again lied to Ghanaians.
