MASSIVE: See how Ghanaians reacted to Zoomlion boss saying he started his business from 3 cedis

Ghanaians on social media have "roasted" Zoomlion boss and Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong for saying that the started his business empire from a GHC 3 loan his mother gave him.

Dr. Joseph Siaw was speaking at the 6th Leadership Lecture Series held at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), the President under whose direction the university was established. The lecture series was organized under the theme "Sustaining Environmental Sanitation Gains through Specialized Education" , and the CEO of Jospong took the opportunity to motivate the audience about self-reliance and how they can build huge enterprises from very little.

In his speech, Dr. Siaw recalled how he could not continue schooling after his second-cycle education, and thus had to join his mother sell books at her bookshop and on the streets of Accra. Whiles working there, he quickly learnt the skills of trading, and with a loan of GHC 3 from his mother, he established his first enterprise, the "Jospong Printing Press" in 1995. That was the beginning of his multi-million dollar business empire, as he set forth to establish other companies from then, including Appointed Time Screen Printing Company, Excellent Building and Construction and Zoomlion Company Limited.

Well, netizens on social media aren't buying into any of his life story. One Facebook user by name David Livingstone commented "they never tell us the truth about how they make their money". On a more satirical note, another user by name Richard Asamoah said "This is how I started my restaurant with 1 grain of rice and a chicken wing. But today, I have 52 branches in Ghana. Who would believe in these lies?"
