A photo taken by an amateur photographer of a woman in Northern Ghana carrying vegetables from a farm has been declared as best photo at this year’s Wiki Love Folklore photo contest in Ghana. In the picture, the beautiful blue skies of the North act largely as background whiles the woman is captured trekking home or perhaps to the market from what appears like a long day at the farm. She adorns tattered African costume with a large creamy scarf hanging over her shoulders as she balances a pan containing variety of vegetables on her head. The Picture which was taken by Accra – based Haliq Abu Ibn Shiraz entered the contest along with over 1,200 other entries and won following acclaims by a team of local photography experts.
