Joy News, one of Ghana's most authentic news platforms has just shared a chart on their social media page to show the current performance of the cedi.
According to the chart, the Ghana cedi has maintained its spot as the worst performing currency in Africa. Ghana placed 22nd out of the 22 currencies in Africa.
Could this be the reason the cedi is also performing badly against several international currencies including the Dollar, Pounds and Euros?
Some Ghanaians have reacted to this trending story and below are some reactions.
From the reactions above, most Ghanaians have shown disappointment in the government for consistently causing hardship on Ghanaians. Some believe that the NPP administration should not put it in their plans of breaking the eight because of how the cedi is "trending" in Africa "badly".
Members of the Akufo Addo led administration have always tried to convince Ghanaians that the performance of the cedi on other foreign currencies should be tagged on the Russian-Ukraine war as well as covid-19. Members of the NDC believe that what the NPP members are saying may be true, but they believe that Covid-19 did not only affect Ghana. They are therefore urging the NPP to accept the fact that the NPP government have mismanaged the economy.
