AngloGold Ashanti of Ghana, has suspended its mining activities at Obuasi mines. Why this sudden suspension? Last Tuesday, an employee mining contractor at Obuasi mines fell of ground in one of the operations stopes in Obuasi and has gone missing.
Reports indicates that a search and rescue team was deployed to rescue their colleague but they are yet to find him as he is missing. AngloGold Ashanti says they are still working tirelessly in a difficult geotechnical condition in the said area to locate their employee. Though its been very difficult for them, they aren't giving up on the search for their colleague.
AngloGold Ashanti of Ghana says that the safety of the employees remains paramount to them and as such they have informed the necessary authorities to help them in this difficulty times. They are doing everything possible to locate their employee at all cost. The identity of the missing worker has not been disclosed to the public yet.
