According to Albert Einstein, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, whilst expecting different results. No wonder, Ghanaians expect the government to do things differently to get the desired results. On XYZ Okatakyie Afrifa's morning show, he asked if government's recent economic measures are drastic enough and whether the USD 2billion was necessary.

On the show, all the guests gave very strong points on how to build the economy. One financial analyst pointed out that there were two measures that government can implement ; mainly fiscal and monetary policies. According to him, the Bank of Ghana is the mother of monetary policies whilst the Ghana Revenue Authority is the mother of fiscal policies . According to the finance analyst, both fiscal and monetary policies are required to be subject under the ministry of finance but In Ghana, all these systems have woefully failed. He stated that taxes are fiscal whilst policy rate implementations are monetary measures.

According to Okatakyie Afrifa's show, the ministry of finance did not implement the 1D1F well hence the MOF's request to borrow additional USD 2billion to create more fiscal issues. He exclaimed that taxes are mobilised and disbursed without proper accountability and the public officers who cause the debts are still enjoying in their homes whilst we direct the pain to the innocent people of Ghana.

Okatakyie Afrifa's show on TV XYZ was to highlight on the recent press briefing by the Finance Minister. Discussion unravelled how Ghanaians are saddened and surprised about the way the government is running the affairs of the country.

They concluded by advising the Ministry of Finance to go back and rethink about the strategies and revert with more appropriate economic solutions.
