The Juapong textiles, which is now called the Volta Star Textiles limited is located in the Volta Region of Ghana. Her Excellency Harriet Thompson visited the place as Okudzeto Ablakwa, the member of parliament for the area showed her around.
Speaking about Her Excellency's visit, Okudzeto said "it gave me great pleasure to showcase Volta Star Textiles Limited also known as Juapong Textiles located in my beloved constituency to the British High Commissioner, H.E. Harriet Thompson and her delegation yesterday. Now employing 750 Ghanaians, it is our vision to secure strategic partners so we can revamp and create more jobs for at least 3,000 young constituents and other citizens."
He continued saying "The textile industry which is a pale shadow of its glorious past has great potential into the future, particularly as we are ushered into an era of As MP, I shall continue to work closely with Dorfor Chiefs, VSTL management, workers, and other key partners as we leverage opportunities to make my vision of a revamped, expanded and modern 3,000 jobs textile factory a reality."
