Ghana Commercial Bank has just released another statement to all customers who transfer money from their mobile wallet to the bank and vice versa.
In their Facebook post, the bank clearly stated that E-levy does not apply to the following charges.
#1. Wallet to Bank Transfers from own account.
#2. Bank to Wallet Transfers from own account.
This comes after come customers of the bank and also most banks in Ghana complained about some charges that were not supposed to be deducted from their accounts. With this new development, one can transfer cash from his or her mobile money wallet to the bank without the payment of E-levy. What one has to do is to have their Ghana Card connected with the mobile money account and the bank account.
Some Ghanaians have reacted to this and below are some reactions.
From the reactions above, some Ghanaians seem unhappy because the bank and other financial institutions clearly revealed at first that the E-levy applies such transfers bank. Others are happy about this new development.
