Let's Develop Interest To PayTax - Chief Urges Ghanaians.

The Nkosohene of Awonmaso-Domeabra Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Kumah Farms Complex and Training Institute, Nana Kwaku Siaw has stressed the need for  Ghanaians to develop interest in tax payment to help build a strong nation.

Nana alleged that the country is currently struggling in terms of financial challenges to fix the economy. 

Speaking to the Opera News Content Writer King Amoah in an interview in Kumasi, Nana Kwaku Siaw, also the 2012 National Best Farmer Award winner said in the developed countries governments rely solely on tax mobilization to transform their economies.

The best farmer said in Ghana the situation tend to be different since the true meaning and importance of tax payment are not properly understood by the citizenry.

Having said that, Nana went on that if taxes would be used judiciously for its intended purpose, it will encourage the people to meet their tax obligations.

He added that lack of understanding on the need to pay tax by the people is the root cause which is drawing back the development of the country, and called for patriotism. 

In order to reverse the trend where people will become abreast with the need on why to pay tax towards national building , the farmer urged government to come out with educational policies to realize the agenda.
