Old Tafo MP Debunks Assertions Of Poor Distribution Of Infrastructural Facilities In SHS Schools.

The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo who doubles as a Member of the Parliamentary Elect Committee on Education, Hon Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has debunked assertions of the quality and poor distribution of infrastructural facilities in Senior High Schools across the country.

During an inspection of an ongoing infrastructural uncomplered Getfund projects in some of the Senior High Schools in the Eastern Region, hon Assafuah disclosed to some media personnel that school heads are normally asked to present their urgent infrastructural needs to the Ministry of Education for the necessary attention to be given them. In respect to that he said that the government cannot be blamed for failure of school heads to present the appropriate infrastructural needs.

He said in his address that when he used to be the Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Education, they allowed heads of schools to present to the Ministry of Education what their needs were in the various Senior High Schools. The Ministry then gave those projects out for it to be completed. Therefore, the failure of any school to present certain kinds of needs to the Ministry of Education cannot blame the ministry, neither can it be the fault of the government.

He also said schools have been given projects based on assessment needs done and the government responds accordingly, so there is no form of inequality with respect to projects that are going to various schools and as a government, they are not interested in giving certain kind of projects to certain schools, measuring their needs.
