But the curious person would ask why the winner of National Science And Maths Quiz (NSMQ 2016) is seeking help on social media. This is why.
Mr. Isaac Kojo Mensah Amfoh was the winner of the 2016 NSMQ Competition and also the Best Male Contestant at the contest on behalf of Adisadel College. The former winner is seeking public help so that he can further his tertiary education abroad after completing senior high school in the year 2016.
According to Mr. Amfoh, he has received a full-tuition scholarship from a university in US called Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene Texas, to pursue Computer Science of which he is passionate about.
However, he explained that, a sum of money totaling $17,000 is needed to cover the cost of room & board, books and supplies, health insurance, and travel expenses every year in order to maintain his spot and the scholarship award at the college.
The former NSMQ winner noted that, after his Dad contracted COVID-19, since then, there has been a massive decline in the patronage of the family’s bakery due to the news circulating in the neighbourhood that the father had contracted the virus. This has rendered the family incapable of footing the bill.
Mr. Amfoh only have a week to pay an outright amount of $7,000 in cash otherwise miss out on this great opportunity to further his education abroad.
