Some teachers in the Ghana Education Service have narrated how officers from the Ghana Education Service Directorate have been extorting monies from them illegally.
According to the said teacher who teaches in the Upper Manya Krobo District in the Eastern region, each teacher in the circuit is told to pay a fixed amount of money to buy a goat for their new Director of Education who will be visiting their circuit. The goat will be used to welcome her. This the teacher believes it is improper by the directorate.
