Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa-Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has earlier hinted that the 2021 Senior High Schools (SHS) placement was to be released on Sunday, February 21 2021.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Professor Opoku-Amankwa said they (GES) had worked closely with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to release the results of the majority of the candidates whose results had been withheld.
As at the morning of Monday 22nd February 2021, the SHS placements are not release, and the Education Service is yet to release an update about the placement.
In his earlier interview, Professor Opoku-Amankwa said the placement, will include public and private schools graduates, as well as other re-entrants, who wrote the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the year 2021.
Prof. Opoku-Amankwa added that, in total, about 525,000 BECE graduates who qualified for placement into 721 the SHS, technical and vocational schools of their choices, have declared about 535,000 vacancies, and that there are enough vacancies for the graduates, and assuring parents and guardians that there is no need for anyone to panic.
The Ghana Education Service in their earlier Statement release has warned the General public against fake news portals.
