Leave the School in Peace or Face the Full Rigors of the Law - GES Caution Final Year Students

Management of Ghana Education Service has expressed their appreciation to district Directors, Regional Directors, heads of second cycle institutions and security agencies for their efforts to make the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2021 successful, the WASSCE will soon come to an end, some students have completed their entire examinations, last paper will be written on 8th October, 2021.

Management of Ghana Education Service has directed the heads of second cycle schools, district Directors and regional directors to be cautious, the management has picked an intelligence of the plans by some students to vandalized school properties and attack some staff who were executed their roles as invigilators.

Management of Ghana Education Service has caution students who intend to misbehave after their final examination, no act of indicipline will be tolerated, any students found in any act against the rules and regulations of the school will be made to face the law, security operatives have been deployed in to schools where an intelligence has been gathered about students plans to vandalized school properties.

Ghana Education Service has directed regional directors of education to work with heads of Senior High Schools and the security agencies to ensure maximum security and protection of life and properties in all the Senior High Schools. Any students found culpable should be made to face the full rigors of the law.

Ghana Education Service further encourage parents and guardians to advice their wards to exhibit discipline for the few days they have to write their remaining papers in the school and leave peacefully, any student who will be arrested for misconduct especially for causing harm to person or damage to any school or private property will be prosecuted and be made to pay the full cost of properties destroyed.

Ghana Education Service has also pleaded with all stakeholders involved in education and the security agencies to work together to ensure no harm is caused and no property is damaged as the students leave the school compound.

This act of indicipline whereby students cause harm to person and damage to school properties was created by some of the teachers in the Senior High Schools, during examination some teachers try to help the students to cheat, a teacher who is against such act is seen as wicked person by the students. A teacher is supposed to teach students in the classroom but some teachers employed as invigilators turn to be teaching students in the examination room.

It is high time technology is injected in the examination, teachers should not be allowed to conduct invigilation in their own school. Some students have already vandalized school properties after writing their last papers, teachers who were against examination malpractice have been attacked.
