GES Sets Date for The Submission of Further Particulars by Prospective Candidates For Promotion

Staff in the Ghana Education Service have been directed to submit further particulars for the upcoming aptitude test, The teaching staff of Ghana Education service who recently applied online for 2021 aptitude test for promotion to the upper ranks within GES are requested to submit the photocopies of the application print out, current payslip and last promotion letter (one each) to their District Directorate latest by Friday 1st October for onward submission to the headquarters. 

There was massive failure in the GES Promotion Aptitude Test for 2020, the massive failure was attributed to technical failure, the massive failure was as a result of Teachers neglect to vital information from the Ghana Education Service

For a teacher to be promoted from his or her current rank in the service, the teacher is supposed to write an aptitude test and pass the test in order to be promoted. The filling of online application forms is the first step to success in the GES Promotional exams, following the rules in submission of the online application is a key to success, majority of teachers who failed in the last promotional exams failed to adhered to the rules of submission of documents. The system captured their forms as incomplete and these teachers were given a message to produce further particulars for their results to be released. 

Upon successful submission of online application forms, teachers have to submit the print out of the application, passport pictures, recent payslips and photocopies of their certificates to their various district offices for endorsement by their district directors for onward submission to the headquarters. Failure to submit the required documents will render the application form incomplete, if the application is rendered incomplete, such teachers will not be able to view their promotional results. 

The aptitude test is Seventy-five multiple choice questions with Seventy-five marks, the staff appraisal form contains twenty five marks in total 100 marks. 

All teachers seeking for promotion are to present appraisal form endorsed by their heads of institutions, the appraisal form provides the summary of the teacher's output of work for the year, performances of teaching staff are monitored by their heads of institutions. The performance is summarized in the staff appraisal form. 

The seventy five multiple choice questions are set on the following areas, Teachers daily activities in the classroom, knowledge in the Ghana Education Service, General knowledge, Methodologies of teaching, Educational reforms and current affairs. 

Ghana Education Service Promotion Aptitude Test is the only means a teacher can be promoted to a higher rank, if a teacher fail in the aptitude test, he or she will remains stagnant in the service until he is able to pass the test.
