Massive Shake Up Takes Place At KNUST As More Than 60 Executives Lose Their Jobs

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is one of the best places of study in Africa. Several university rankings have placed the University among the top five best universities in Ghana.

It is an undeniable fact that peace is an important aspect of any University environment. It is not surprising that the recent Katanga-Unity Hall clash has sparked disapproval amongst the Ghanaian population.

The Council of KNUST has taken a tough decision after scrutinizing the frequency and intensity of confusion amongst the two main halls on campus.

What might be the reason for this confusion? Where were student leaders when the recent clash took place? Why did students vandalise properties such as cars and other assets?

Well, the Council of KNUST has finally abolished all Junior Common Rooms or Student leaderships. Matters of Hall administration and management will no more be handled by these student leaders.

In other words, more than sixty student executives who were appointed or elected have lost their jobs. They would no more receive any allowance if they were once entitled to it.

The decision to abolish the JCRs has been applauded by many Ghanaians all over the country.

Would this be a permanent solution to the problem? What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
