Reactions As IGP Akuffo Dampare Is Set To "Storm" KNUST On This Day

Akuffo Dampre, Inspector General for the Ghana Police Service is set to storm Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on Thursday, 11th August, 2022.

He has been invited by the Faculty of Social Sciences, through the public lecture committee of the university to give a lecture on the topic; "The Changing face of policing in Ghana, expectations and the role of the University Community."

IGP Dampare is undoubtedly one of the best Inspectors of the Police in Ghana's history. He has been praised by many Ghanaians for his active work in the service. He has changed several perceptions about the Ghana Police Service.

Below are some reactions on social media

IGP Dampare is likely to speak about the issue of rape at the KNUST campus and how to prevent such acts from happening. This is because, for the past few days, KNUST has recorded two rape cases on campus. The latest one involved six persons who were remanded on Wednesday for being part of a rape case. The six accused persons were charged with rape after they admitted to the crime in their caution statement.

The accused persons were Patrick Fosu, Edwin Nii Noi Quaynor, John Wilson, Kingsley Asiedu Andoh, Thompson Nti, and Assafuah Eric who appeared before the Asokore Mampong District Court and were remanded into police custody.
