After the released of the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination results with a statistics which showed clearly that 572,167 made up of 287, 730 males and 284,437 female's seated for the examination, a number of some parents, guardians and candidates are all dissatisfied with some scores in the recently released results by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). In regards to this, I have taken the necessary steps to write this article to talk about a remedy to this. One may ask, is there anything I can do about my results if am not okay with the grades? The answer is absolutely yes. For a candidates who believed he/she has done what it takes to get a good grade during the examination before things turned the other way round after the released of the result, one can take a quick step to get things change. This is called remarking of paper. Is it possible to apply for the remarking of WAEC exam scripts of candidates? Yes, it is. How does one do that? What would it cost to get a WAEC candidate’s script remarked? How possible is to get the results reviewed? I guess this would be the questions one may asked. You have nothing to lose but answers to get. A number of procedures are to be followed if one were to be sure to achieve the goal of remarking the scripts.
According to WAEC, the first step towards getting your exam or answer script remarked (if you feel that you were scored below what you should have scored) is to notify the school where you took the examination. That Is the basic school the candidate have attended.
The school by the help of the headmaster or the headmistress will then forward an application on behalf of the candidates to West African Examination Council (WAEC).This application must be received 60 days after the release of the results.
In lodging the complain, candidate have to specify whether he/she is calling for remarking of all the subjects or just some of them. After this, the West African Examination Council remark the specified papers. Then the candidate waits till the next result is released.
