BECE Begins Today, 15 of November.

About 571,894 final-year junior high school (JHS) students are beginning their Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) from today, Monday, November 15 and total of 531,707 and 517,332 sat for the paper in 2020 and 2019 respectively.

A statement that was made by the Head of Public Relations of the Ghana Education Service, Mrs. Cassandra Twum Ampofo, pleaded with candidate to no engage in any form of malpractices.

The examination is to test their might and to qualify them for placement into senior high schools (SHSs). 

About2,000 plus centers have been prepared across the 16 regions of the country for the examinations controlled by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). 

They are starting with Social Studies and French which is my first time I'm hearing this in decades.

The examinations are scheduled to end on Friday, November 19. 

According to WAEC, officials of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) have been put in position to monitor the process to avoid malpractices during this paper

The Council said Covid-19 protocols have also been put in place across the 2,158 centers as hand sanitizers will be given to all candidates.
