A 23 Year Old Visually Impaired Student Receives Award From DW For Participating In Radio Program

A 23 year old visually impaired student of Akropong School for the Blind in the eastern region, Happy Osei Amankwah wins award for participating in Radio program.

Happy Osei Amankwah who hails from Koforidua Nkurakan, enjoyed listening to a DW program aired on Radio 1, a media establishment in the eastern region for which reason she participated in the quiz segment and answered correctly thereby landing her the said award.

In an interview with Abena Ampofo of Radio 1, Happy Osei Amankwah, the visually impaired Rehabilitation student revealed that Crime fighters has been her favourite program on Radio 1 and she enjoyed most the episode that sensitized the public on Sexual harassment.

"My radio set is always at Radio 1 and my favorite program is the Crime fighter's Learning by Ear. I love it so much that i even told my friends about it and we listen to it together when in school. The part i liked most was the episode that spoke about sexual harassment in school. So i participated in the quiz and eventually answered my questions. I didn't believe i would get the prize though but i was happy i was able to partake. God bless Radio 1 and God bless DW" - Happy Osei Amankwah said.

Happy Osei Amankwa received souvenirs from Germany's Deutsche Welle (DW).

She used the opportunity to express her gratitude to the organizers of the program and the appealed to the general public to make time for the program.
