The President of the land, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today, 21st June 2021, paid a working tour to the Upper East Region, with visits to Bolgatanga, Binduri, and Bawku. The President paid a courtesy call on the Bawku Naba, Asigir Abugrago Azoka II, who is also President of the Kusaug Traditional Council. He also paid a courtesy call on the Elders of Mamprusi and again paid a courtesy call on Binduri Naba.
One of the purposes of the President's visit to the Upper East Region was to commission the new Bolgatanga East District Assembly building. Looking at the picture below, Senior High Students within the vicinity mobbed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's convoy in such a way that all his entourages in their vehicles have no option than to move slowly through the crowd.
Mostly, you would notice adults both old and young mixed with the students in welcoming the President but this time around, it appears to be only students welcoming him. A Facebook user known as CitizenSam Mills reacted to this image saying:
"You'd have had an empty street without those students .... Mtchhheeewww. The system is not working under you".
He seems to have a view that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made the country unbearable for many Ghanaians which is why the people in the town did not come in their numbers to welcome him. Recently, some youths arouse in the country and asked to fix the country but it appears they did not get the response that they want. This might be the reason why no adult came to meet the President but only Free SHS students.
