Provide Food For Senior High Schools Or We Go On Strike – GNAT Threatens Government

Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has expressed worry over the recent food crisis in some Senior High Schools across the country and has threatened industrial action should nothing be done to avert the situation.

The General Secretary, Thomas Musah while speaking on GBC news, expressed worry over GES continuous dismissal of claims of food shortages in Senior High Schools. He revealed that he has evidence to the effect that, some schools are in crisis and are in dire need of food contrary to what GES says.

Speaking in the interview, he said, “Master, some of the schools are on their knees, I have my evidence. Even this morning, I have received a lot of complaints from the Heads, some of them can’t talk, I have received from the Central Region…etc. The list is as long as anything.”

When quizzed about their possible line of action should their demands not be met, he said, “when we get there, we will see what to do.”
