Ministry of Education is the full meaning of MOE. The Ministry of Education is a multiportfolio government Ministry of Ghana, responsible for the governance and management of Ghana's education. It is responsible for the national education curriculum, primarily instituted by Ghana Education Service, which is part of the Ministry.
The Ministry of Education together with the Ghana Education Service came out in 2019 to release a statement telling the general public especially those in the education sector that, they have changed the curriculum for the Basic Schools. Since the new curriculum came, the Ministry of Education has not released all the texts books that the primary schools should use. This has been a conscience for most of the people in the country. Due to this, Ghana National Association of Teachers has come out to release a statement urging the Ghana's Education Ministry to release primary schools textbooks of new curriculum.
According to the Chairman of GNAT, Rev. Dr. Isaac Owusu, it is unfortunate that two years after introducing the new curriculum, teachers are yet to be given the prescribed textbooks to help teaching and learning. He added that, the Ministry of Education has to speed the process of procuring primary schools textbooks of the new curriculum to facilitators after two years of its implementation. Dr Isaac Owusu made this statement on the 6th quadrennial delegates conference.
