One powerful intervention by the Gorvernment of Ghana is the provision of Scholarship. The impact of these interventions is found in the areas of increased access to quality training to needy, brilliant and deserving students at the tertiary education level. The Human Resource deficit in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is been fully acknowledged and strategies have been developed over the years to address the gap in society. H. E. the President of the Republic of Ghana initiated processes aimed at increasing access and ensuring transparency in its scholarship awards and administration processes. This shifted the application from manual to online.
The online portal for the application was opened last year for the first badge of free SHS. It was later closed at the latter part of the year. Students who successfully completed with the online application and passed the aptitude test has already being interviewed in the month of February. They are now waiting for the list of successful applicants.
The portal has now being opened again for only foreign applicants. It has been opened for brilliant and needy students as well as qualified workers to pursue further training in foreign tertiary institution in government priority areas.
