According to teachers who received the arrears, they explained that only three months money owed them were paid. That is, from the months March, April and May in the year 2021. The money was added to teachers June salary, which was received about a week ago.
It is uncertain as to when next the remaining months will be paid to teachers again. Although some staff members of GES, particularly teachers were upgraded about a year ago, only three months have been paid so far.
Consequently, teachers who are not put on the right scale after upgrading are not going to see any upgrading arrears. However, their salaries will increase starting from July ending as they are being put on the right scale in subsequent months.
What this means is that teachers who had their upgrading from 2019 to 2021 are not going to be paid any salary arrears, but will be put on their respective scale by the end of July 2021.
There is currently a displeasure on the side of teachers because they feel they have been treated unfairly by their employer thus, are calling on the various teacher unions to act on their behalf.
