The University of Cape Coast Center for Distance and E-Learning have secured some parcels of land to build it's Regional Distance Education Directorate for Accessibility in Upper West Region.
The Over 20 acres of land located close to Siiriyiri in the Wa West District was given out by the land owners known as Tendemee, as a support to the University in order to support it in using the University to attract development to the Area.
According to some residents, the development is is a wise decision made by the chiefs and people to give out the land to the University for they believe the respect given them by decision of Management to chose their community is overwhelming.
They however proposed that they'll want the university to educate some number of their community members annually in return for the land they have given to the university.
University of Cape Coast has its distance learning centers in 3 Municipalities in Upper West Region including Nandom Municipality, Sissala East and Wa Municipality.
